ALOHA! Big Rod Felton opened up the island hospitality last week as players hit Waikiki Beach for the 2006 WOR Hawaiian Open
at Fort Derussey. The outdoor 3-wall courts are located directly across from the beach and are some of the most beautiful courts to
play on in the world! Ektelon Fireballs were firing all day and into the night as 14 teams battled in the Pro Division.
Two of WOR's top ranked players, Robert Sostre from NY and Rob Hoff from CA, teamed up to capture the pro title with an exciting win
over racquetball legend Marty Hogan and his partner Rod Felton. After being down most of the match and facing elimination at match
point, Robert Sostre took control of the game cutting off nearly every serve and putting the ball away when it counted. The end result
being a 15-14 win over Hogan/Felton. Exciting to say the least!
On the court play is just a portion of this event as teams competed in the Pro, A, and Masters divisions while enjoying barbecued
meals and a trip to the NFL Pro Bowl on Sunday. You can't beat those coconut trophies either! An extra special congratulations goes
out to Robert Sostre & Mike Agustine getting married to their beautiful brides in Hawaii during the week of the tourney!
