Hawaiian racquetball legend and former IRT pro Egan Inoue has been competing in the mixed martial arts
scene for a long time. His return to the ring was May 17th. And yes, he won the event wearing OneshotSports
new fight gear! OneshotSports fearless leader, Son Nguyen visited the islands for the fight and met up with
Big Rod Felton. Not sure if they spent more time watching the fight, or chillin' with the ring girls!

The new quadrant serving rule can be a little confusing if you have not played that way before. The rule will

Do Clubber and Solis make the perfect indoor/outdoor hybrid doubles team in racquetball? Not only have they

CARSON AND HUCZEK TEAM UP TO WIN US TEAM QUALIFYING DIVISION
The two who did battle in the Pro Singles division at the 2007 WOR-Ektelon Championships teamed up to
dominate at the Tempe, Arizona, USAR National Doubles. Rocky Carson teamed with Jack Huczek to win
the US Team qualifying division beating Mitch Williams & Jason Thoerner.

2006 WOR-EKTELON CHAMPIONSHIPS PHOTOS . . .
Congratulations to all the players in this years WOR-Ektelon Championships. There could not have been better weather, or
a better event. Sunshine, food, great matches, and fun times were on display all weekend at Marina Park in SoCal, Huntington
Beach. There were some epic Pro battles with Rocky Carson taking the singles crown over Cliff Swain. Lane/Solis defeated
Carson/Hoff in a Pro Doubles final tie breaker. Peters/Ustarroz upset Swain/Tucker 11-10 in a Pro Doubles quarter final. Pro
Legends Ruben Gonzalez and John Ellis fought their way through some tough teams all weekend before going down in the Semi's
against Carson/Hoff. Congratulations to Pro Women's Singles Champion Rhonda Rajsich in a hard fought victory over Sherri Knecht.

For everyone who thought the California outdoor pros dominated the world of WOR, look out for the Floridians! Some of the

The weather is warming up around the country and Michigan's outdoor season kicks off with the 2nd Annual
"Can You Stand The Heat Doubles Championships" July 29th, 2006 at St. Clair Shores Park. Over 20 divisions

OUTDOOR RACQUETBALL SPARKS INTERNATIONAL INTEREST . . .
WOR has created an interest from a number of international countries spanning from Mexico to Brazil, and a few
others in between! Ektelon Pro John Ellis, who is in charge of international growth for Ektelon, has many contacts
throughout Central and South America who have requested WOR DVDs and info on the sport. Many countries have
plans for building outdoor courts and getting in on the action. It's only a matter of time before you may be playing
the Japanese National Racquetball Champion at the next WOR-Ektelon Championships!

ROCKY GOES MENTAL IN HOUSTON, TX . . .
We think of him as the super likeable, uber-talented outdoor player, but he does play indoor occasionally and
went super-nova this week at the US National Singles Championships in Houston, TX. Rocky Carson is the new
US National Singles Champion, defeating #1 seed Jack Huczek in the finals 15-10, 13-15, and 11-3. Now Rocky
heads outdoors for the WOR-Ektleon Western Regional Warm Ups, June 10-11 and the WOR-Ektelon
Championships, July 7-9 at Marina Park, Huntington Beach, SoCal. Congratulations from all of us at WOR to
Rocky and Rhonda on their great wins!

RAJSICH WINS WOMEN'S TITLE IN HOUSTON . . .
Make it 2 for 2 in Houston, TX (for star outdoor players Rocky and Rhonda) as the #1 women's player in the world, Rhonda Rajsich,
won the Houston Singles title with a 15-5, 15-8 win over Cheryl Gudinas. Rhonda, who came to the WOR Championships last
year and fell in love with outdoor, not only is coming back this year, but is recruiting other WPRO pros to come also!
Congratulations to Rhonda from WOR on a great win.

CARSON/HOFF WIN THE OCEAN BEACH SAN DIEGO PRO KENNEX SHOOTOUT . . .
WOR and Pro Kennex combined to host the first sanctioned tournament in San Diego and it was a hit! Another
beautiful spot to play, the Ocean Beach courts sit right next to Sea World on Mission Bay. Players were greeted
with beautiful 74 degree weather and a cool breeze off Bay with plenty of food and fun. Great to see Pro Kennex's
Mike Martinez on the court at the event! All these added to a great shootout, but the play was the highlight and
the outdoor pros put on a show in San Diego. Hoff continued his great year and continued to build his lead in
the WOR Rankings as he and Rocky Carson captured the Pro finals beating Greg Solis and Mike Martinez.

Greg Solis and Craig Lane, the defending WOR National Doubles Champions, looked like they are starting to tune-up

EKTELON FIREBALLS A HIT AT INTERCOLLEGIATES IN ARIZONA . . .
All Team Ektelon players at the Intercollegiates last weekend received a can of Fireballs and they were
the most talked about thing at the tournament. The college kids loved the color and fast play of the Fireballs.
The Fireballs go on sale coming this May. You need to get some!

OCANA / USTARROZ WIN PRO KENNEX HOLLYWOOD 1-WALL SHOOTOUT . . .
Ocana/Ustarroz AKA Zues Squared captured the event this past Sunday with a great win in the
finals over Ruben Gonzalez and Rob Hoff. The final was action packed with racquetball legend
Ruben Gonzalez making spectacular diving gets and rollouts all over the court. His efforts came
up a little short with Ocana/Ustarroz taking the title with an exciting 15-13, 15-14 win in the finals.

2006 BRAWL ON THE BEACH RESULTS FROM HAWAII . . .
Several of the first round matches were played on Saturday due to a chance rain on Sunday. The last match
of the day was Marty Hogan playing against son Ben Hogan with their respective partners. It was a close
match with dad getting the win! The BBQ was firing all day and also a band playing 'til 9 at night. At the end
of the day Gonzalez/Hoff were leading the Diamond Head bracket. Hogan/Felton took the first round in the
Koko Head bracket by only one point over two teams.

Sunday started out with lots of rain and only a few matches left to play. The HONOLULU FITNESS CLUB
welcomed all of the players to the club for a great day of indoors due to the rain. The sun came out in the
afternnon and the finals were a go! In Semi-1 Gonzalez/Hoff def. Bauman/Martin (15-7). In Semi-2 the team of
Robinson/Sands def. Hogan/Felton (15-13). The final started at sunset and was a close match with
Gonzalez/Hoff squeeking out the victory in the end. Special thanks to all the players who came in from

ANNOUNCING THE NEW CALIFORNIA STATE WOR REP . . .
Allan Kazem has been recently appointed to the position of the California Representative of World Outdoor
Racquetball (WOR). Allan, a Team Ektelon member, has been selected to lead WOR's efforts throughout the
state. He has been a familiar face in Southern California racquetball for many years. A Divisional Champion
of the 2004 WOR National Championships, he will be overseeing all California-based WOR Sanctioned events
and directing a number of local / regional shootouts and tournaments. He will be responsible for direct
marketing and promotion of the national WOR efforts.

In addition, he will work in collaboration with other state directors, sponsors, and racquetball groups interested
in participating in California WOR events. Allan will also lead the Ektelon Outdoor Team in California as part of
his new position. "It's an exciting time to be part of the outdoor racquetball scene, and I look forward to the
expansion and growth of WOR" said Kazem. "We are very excited to have Allan on board and leading the WOR
efforts in California, he has decades of experience with everything involved in outdoor" commented Hank Marcus,

2006 KING OF THE BEACH TOURNAMENT RESULTS . . .
With unstable weather conditions and pouring rain on Friday, many players were scratching their heads
wondering if the event would even take place. But in typical SoCal fashion, the weather cleared up, the sun
popped out, and 70 degree sunny skies were on tap for the weekend! Based on an accumulation of points
by playing with different partners throughout the event, the tournament is unique whereas you can actually
lose, but still take the crown in the end! If it doesn't make sense now, you need to come and play in it next
year. Definitely some good times at this one!

This event made it 3 wins in a row for Jesus "Skinny Heat" Ocana. Making him quite the diverse player as
of lately winning three events in a row on three different types of courts...long-wall, 1-wall, and now short-wall.

WOR/PRO KENNEX 2006 SUPERBOWL SHOOTOUT RESULTS . . .
Jesus Ocana & Mark Naylor captured their first Pro Doubles win in WOR competition at the Pro Kennex
SuperBowl Shootout. Ocana/Naylor batttled through a tough draw to defeat Tucker/Hoff 15-13 in the final.
Many players from around SoCal participated in the event sponsored by Pro Kennex and sanctioned by
WOR. Kennex reps Mike Martinez, Dean Foes, and Don DiPalma came up to support the kick-off event
at Woodbridge Park in Irvine, Ca. 12 teams registered and only one would win! The day started out sunny
and cool, but the heat turned up with strong showings form Greg Solis, Jason Geis, Gabe Medina, Mike Beltran,
Son Nguyen, and Kevin Reynolds. Hollywood 1-Wall players Howard Austin and Franklin Wilson came down to
play and represented well. Participants enjoyed the games and made way for the margaritas to come in the
afternoon. The next Pro Kennex event will be the King of the Beach March 4-5, 2006 at Newport Beach, Ca.

BELLE ISLE CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS & PHOTOS . . .
The Belle Isle Racquetball Championships is one of the longest running events in outdoor and the Michigan
site hosted over 150 players! The traditional late summer event was highlighted by great play, hospitality,
and even some rain! Special thanks to Ron Barton, Thelma Howard, Greg Lewerenz, Joe Romeo, and
Stephanie Winfrey for all their time and effort in making sure the tradition of Belle Isle continues and grows.

EKTELON-WOR PORTABLE COURT MAKES HISTORY . . .
The Ektelon Portable Outdoor Court made its debut this weekend in California and was a hit! The court,
a replica of the Golden West 3-wall courts was set up in the parking lot of a club and used for exhibitions
& filming all Sunday. Outdoor stars Brian Hawkes, Rocky Carson, Greg Solis, Craig Lane, Kersten Hallander,
& Rhonda Rajsich blasted balls off the walls and even ran into walls to test out the court. Even Georges
Barrera's top juniors made the trip out to test out the court. Royster Productions was on site the entire time
filming to create a promotional piece to increase the awareness and marketability of outdoor. The angles and
shots available from cut outs in the front & sidewall were amazing. The court can be set up played on and torn
down in 1 day creating unbelievable opportunities for outdoor & WOR. Many thanks to those who made the
court a reality in only WOR's second year of existence; Chuck West whose expertise designed, tested, and built

SOSTRE/RAMIREZ WIN 2005 NYC 1-WALL SUPER SERIES EVENT . . .
Robert "The Iceman" Sostre and Freddie Ramirez continued their amazing record of never losing
a 1-Wall tournament when they captured the win in the Pro Division finals at the New York City
Open at Orchard Beach in the Bronx. Will this dominating duo ever be beaten in 1-Wall competition?
It's definitely getting more interesting with the mix of 1-Wall players and 3-Wall players now in on the action.
They have taken down some big names in 3-Wall events and given others a run for their money, but who
has yet to give them a scare in 1-Wall? One thing is for certain......the competition is only getting tougher

Labor Day weekend is a traditional stop for the top pros in Southern California. This year everyone hit
the Newport Beach courts for a Pro Doubles Shootout with 19 teams battling for the prize money. The
weather & competition was great with Jeff Johnson & Pete Gauci pulling the upset over Rocky Carson

RED SWAIN MEMORIAL EVENT GOES OFF IN STYLE . . .
Attack of the 80' courts! The Red Swain Memorial was held in honor of Cliff Swain's father and has to
go down as one of the funnest events of the year. Not only was the level of play at an all time high
with top IRT pros Cliff Swain and Josh Tucker lighting up the courts, but the courts themselves are

BARTON-LEWERENZ WIN INAGURAL 'CAN YOU STAND THE HEAT!?' DOUBLES ONLY TOURNAMENT . . .
Outdoor verterans Ron Barton and Greg Lewerenz took home the championship in WOR's first Michigan
event of the summer at St. Clair Shores. Barton-Lewerenz defeated Tom Blakeslee-Jack White in the finals.
Barton took home the double by also winning the Mixed with partner Thelma Howard. Special thanks to
tournament directors Tom Blakeslee and Twayne Howard for kicking off the Michigan outdoor season and all

WOR INVADES OHIO FOR THE FIRST TIME ON SEPTEMBER 10-11, 2005 . . .
Turns out that Ohio is quite the hotbed for Outdoor Racquetball! We have a couple things here to get excited about!
Westgate Park in Columbus, Ohio will host the first WOR event ever held in Ohio with the Columbus Shootout Sept.
10-11, 2005. The event will benefit the American Cancer Society. Ohio has long been a huge outdoor state for handball
and now the racquetballers are moving in thanks to Steve Lerner. Download the entry form and support the event!

WOR-EKTELON CHAMPIONSHIPS MAKE THE NEWSPAPER IN THE OC . . .
Yep, you saw them lurking around the 2005 WOR-EKETELON CHAMPIONSHIPS with their super-zoom ultra
expensive telephoto camera lenses shooting pics of everything swinging at a racquetball. It was the news media
paparazzi from the The Orange County Register running an article on the event and also highlighting the 20th Pro

THE NYC OPEN 1-WALL SUPER SERIES EVENT . . .
Just like NYC itself, this Super Series Event will be a diverse crowd with the different disciplines of outdoor racquetball
showing up to do battle! We have some of the worlds best indoor players, 3-wall players, 1-wall players, and top
paddleball players crossing over. Can Marty Hogan and Cliff Swain extend their finals streak and break through with a
rematch against the NYC powerhouse team of Robert Sostre and Freddy Ramirez? Can Robert Sostre's undefeated
1-Wall streak be broken? Or will Ruben Gonzalez show up and take down all opposing teams? The event will take place
on August 27-28, 2005 at Orchard Beach Park, The Bronx, NY.

WOR HITS BOSTON FOR FIRST TIME WITH RED SWAIN MEMORIAL . . .
Thanks to Cliff Swain, WOR is working this year with the Red Swain Racquetball-Handball Memorial Tournament August
13-14, 2005 at the Curley Recreation Center in South Boston. This historic and unique site features outdoor courts like you

2005 WOR-EKTELON CHAMPIONSHIPS MAKE HISTORY . . .
The 2005 WOR-Ektelon Outdoor Championships will go down in history as the largest outdoor event ever held.
Some of the greatest pros in the sport of racquetball turned out for the event and put on a show with some of
the most exciting action packed matches the sport has ever seen. With semi-final Pro singles matches such
as John Ellis vs. Rocky Carson and Brian Hawkes vs. Cliff Swain, the action was non-stop and exciting for
players and fans alike! Brain Hawkes put on an awesome display of pin-point accurate serves and relentless
quickness to edge out Rocky Carson in the Pro singles final. The Pro doubles final was equally as intense
with defending champions Craig Lane and Greg Solis defeating legends of racquetball Marty Hogan and Cliff
Swain in one of the most exciting Pro doubles finals in WOR history.

This event has taken outdoor racquetball to a new level and far exceeded many expectations of both players
and fans alike. A very special thanks goes out to Scott Winters, Hank Marcus, and Robert Martinez of Ektelon
for creating WOR and the dream to make this event possible.

All of the action was caught on film by Royster Productions and a DVD is in the works and will be available soon.
Over 250 photos were taken and will also be posted on the site and available on a CD shortly. Below is just a

2004-2005 WOR FINAL RANKING CHAMPIONS . . .
The final rankings are in for the 2004-05 season and there were some great battles for a spot on the WOR
National Team! The following players were this year's ranking point champions in their division and will be
honored at the Pabst Player Party Saturday night of the WOR Championships at the Hotel Huntington Beach.
Remember, the 05-06 season begins next week at the Championships and ranking points will start to accumulate

PRE-TOURNAMENT EKTELON FIREBALL SALE . . .

WOR REGIONALS PHOTOS, HIGHLIGHTS, AND PRO DRAWS . . .
The drizzly June gloom finally left SoCal and the sun was out with the heat turned up for the
WOR Western Regionals with the Eastern Regionals also taking place in NYC! Robert Sostre
dominated the East Coast Pro singles division as did Brian Hawkes on the West Coast. Both
players looked as tough as ever in the singles division sending a strong statement that others
need to step up their games a notch!

The Pro doubles division was equally as exciting with the newly formed team of Son Nguyen
and Josh Tucker handily defeating Rocky Carson and Rob Hoff in the quarter finals. In the final
it was the seemingly dominant team of Kevin Booth and Mike Peters edging out Gabe Medina
and Mike Beltran for the title.

There was a huge turnout in the Juniors division which is a great sign of many up and coming
players to come. Special thanks to Georges Barrera for keeping the Juniors division rolling!

WOR is committed to exposing the outdoor game to more women and it looks like the Pros
feel the same way! Ektelon's Kersten Hallander has committed to playing this year and her
resume includes being a top touring LPRA Pro since 1997, 2000 IRF Doubles World Champion,
US National Team Member 1997-2004, and a 13-time Age Group National Champion.

HAWKES/LANE SEND A MESSAGE AT THE EDSISON PARK DOUBLES PRO-AM . . .
As we approach the WOR Ektelon Outdoor Championships this coming July of 2005, teams are out to
improve, practice, and send some messages. One message was loudly received this weekend at the
first WOR Pro Kennex event of the season held at Edison Park in Huntington Beach, CA. The legendary
team of Brian Hawkes and Craig “Clubber” Lane made their first appearance of the season together and
dominated the event defeating Gary Martin and Jon Dunn in the finals of one of the toughest draws of the year.

In the A doubles division Dennis Riggs and John Davidson defeated WOR points leader Robby Johnson and
his partner Dave Tedeschi in the final. The A division featured some tough young players on their way up with
young guns Blake Martin and Ryan Schnieder giving many of the veteran teams a run for their money.

SOCAL NEWPORT BEACH SHOOTOUT & PORTABLE COURT TESTING . . .
A star studded field was on hand in Newport Beach, CA last weekend for the Newport Doubles
Shootout and the portable court testing. KEVIN BOOTH & MIKE PETERS dominated the 18
team round-robin format defeating Rob Hoff & Jeff Johnson in a great final. Booth-Peters used
their control style to wear down Greg Solis & Rick Sandello in the semis while Hoff-Johnson
battled it out with Greg & Rebecca Freeze. Special thanks to CHUCK WEST for all his work on
the portable court that was a hit with everyone.

The highlight of the Newport Shootout last weekend was the WOR Portable Court. The court
was set up and tested by everyone including outdoor legend Brian Hawkes. Check out the pictures

ROBINSON / SANDS WIN LARRY TAYLOR WAIKIKI MEMORIAL EVENT . . .
Big Rod reports that Matt Robinson & Lee Sands showed off their 1-Wall skills on the beaches
of Waikiki winning the Larry Taylor Memorial Shootout with a 15-12 win over Scott Bauman and
Big Rod Felton. The annual event was renamed this year in honor of Larry Taylor, one of Waikiki's
long time outdoor players who died on vacation in Thailand last week. He will be greatly missed.

SOLIS TIGHTENS GRIP ON #1 WITH WIN AT NEWPORT . . .
Greg Solis proved why he is #1 in the Pro Singles WOR rankings last weekend with a 21-15 win
over Jesus Ocana at the Newport Beach Shootout. A perfect California day met the players as
they begin to get in some singles practice for July's WOR Allstate Outdoor Championships. Both
finalists had easy wins in the semis with Solis beating Son Nguyen 15-7 & Ocana taking out Jeff

17 teams came out by the beach for some SoCal sunshine and some great doubles this weekend.
Some of the top WOR players hit the Newport courts for the shootout. Kevin Booth & Mike Peters
took the title beating Greg Solis & Rick Sandello in the final. Booth, making a late season charge in
the doubles rankings is slowly creeping up but will have a tough time catching WOR rankings point
leader Gary Martin who played in the shootout with son Blake barely missing a quarterfinals berth!
